Outdated References 111: Disco, Hawk, & Spider-Men

This week we quickly talk about Star Trek Discovery and how making a mini DMA was probably not the greatest idea during an evacuation, then we geek out about Hawkeye and the big reveal of the Kingpin!? Mainly, this week Russ and I go on about our excitement of Spider-Man No Way Home. Seriously, that was a fantastic film that brought on involuntary smiling. Everyone knows, we hate to be happy.

Outdated References 110: Purple Menace

Nathan came back from Puerto Rico and talks about his favorite things: Food & Lizards. We keep the beginning chat short because we have 4 episodes to talk about, Star Trek Discovery Episode 3 “Choose to Live” & Episode 4 “All is Possible,” then we move on to Hawkeye Episode 3 “Echoes” 7 Episode 4 “Partners, Am I Right?” Then I mentioned the comic books purple theory and learned that Grape Ape is the most villainous villain of all villainy.

Outdated References 106: Lost & Found

Coral, Adam, and I casually chat about watching tv in subtitles and the weird ability to pick up inflections in the dialog even though we don’t speak the language and picking up on Spanish through osmosis. Also movie & TV recommendations: James Bond: No Time to Die, Dune, Tron Uprising, & What We Do in the Shadows. Actually, Adam sat us down and explained WTF Dune is all about.

Eventually we dive into Star Trek Prodigy: Ep 1 & 2: Lost & Found. Did we like the new characters? Is it too kiddie? What about the Protostar? Does Dal suck? Find out by listening to this week's episode of Outdated References Podcast.

Bonus: Adam as "American" Nandor from "What We Do in the Shadows."

Outdated References 105: The Watcher, Three Ships & Horny Whales

“Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans”

– John Lennon."

This is so true. Besides all of our usual shenanigans, we had a friend pass away and recently, my wife's Dad also passed away. So as the posting of this episode, I am in Puerto Rico with my Wife, Coral and the rest of my in-laws remembering lost love ones and celebrating life. So apologies for the sporadic releases, we will try our best to stay inconsistently consistent. That being said, we did take a week off so we will be chatting about the finales of What If and Lower Decks.

This week, Adam, Russ, Coral and I discuss Adam playing Castlevania Advance collection (Circle of the Moon) & Neo-Geo Pocket Collection. Nathan got Xenocrisis for the Neo-Geo & Adam immediately starts to bust my balls for buying a MD port. Oh and on Nintendo news, their new online upgrade is kind of BS. We have a short Reservation Dogs discussion. Seriously, check that show out, it's really good. Of course we all add in our 2 cents about the Ted Lasso finale.

The main topic os discussion is "What If... the Watcher Broke His Oath?," "Star Trek Lower Decks: Wej Duj (Three Ships)," & "Star Trek Lower Decks: First First Contact."

Thank you for sticking with us, we really do appreciate the clicks, not because we make any money off of this, but it inspires us to know that someone out there actually listens to this podcast and that's a little weird but totally awesome.

Outdated References 104: Ultron, Anime Jedi & Excretus

Russ, Adam, Coral and I recorded on Mean Girls Day!  Adam is in town and we talk about our time going to Game Nest and playing arcade boards at my place, and Coral’s Classic Cooking Corner.

We try to decipher the episode What If..Ultron Won? Why do all the gems work in between realities? How strong is Uatu?  Also, Star Wars: Visions dropped and we discussed our favorite shorts. I will defend umbrella lightsabers, because that is stupid cool. But my favorite show this week is Star Trek: Lower Decks: I, Excretus. OMG, this episode was so funny.
