Nathan came back from Puerto Rico and talks about his favorite things: Food & Lizards. We keep the beginning chat short because we have 4 episodes to talk about, Star Trek Discovery Episode 3 “Choose to Live” & Episode 4 “All is Possible,” then we move on to Hawkeye Episode 3 “Echoes” 7 Episode 4 “Partners, Am I Right?” Then I mentioned the comic books purple theory and learned that Grape Ape is the most villainous villain of all villainy.

Coral, Adam, and I casually chat about watching tv in subtitles and the weird ability to pick up inflections in the dialog even though we don’t speak the language and picking up on Spanish through osmosis. Also movie & TV recommendations: James Bond: No Time to Die, Dune, Tron Uprising, & What We Do in the Shadows. Actually, Adam sat us down and explained WTF Dune is all about.
Eventually we dive into Star Trek Prodigy: Ep 1 & 2: Lost & Found. Did we like the new characters? Is it too kiddie? What about the Protostar? Does Dal suck? Find out by listening to this week's episode of Outdated References Podcast.
Bonus: Adam as "American" Nandor from "What We Do in the Shadows."

This is so true. Besides all of our usual shenanigans, we had a friend pass away and recently, my wife's Dad also passed away. So as the posting of this episode, I am in Puerto Rico with my Wife, Coral and the rest of my in-laws remembering lost love ones and celebrating life. So apologies for the sporadic releases, we will try our best to stay inconsistently consistent. That being said, we did take a week off so we will be chatting about the finales of What If and Lower Decks.
This week, Adam, Russ, Coral and I discuss Adam playing Castlevania Advance collection (Circle of the Moon) & Neo-Geo Pocket Collection. Nathan got Xenocrisis for the Neo-Geo & Adam immediately starts to bust my balls for buying a MD port. Oh and on Nintendo news, their new online upgrade is kind of BS. We have a short Reservation Dogs discussion. Seriously, check that show out, it's really good. Of course we all add in our 2 cents about the Ted Lasso finale.
The main topic os discussion is "What If... the Watcher Broke His Oath?," "Star Trek Lower Decks: Wej Duj (Three Ships)," & "Star Trek Lower Decks: First First Contact."
Thank you for sticking with us, we really do appreciate the clicks, not because we make any money off of this, but it inspires us to know that someone out there actually listens to this podcast and that's a little weird but totally awesome.

Holy Cow Everyone, I've let myself get overwhelmed with work and play. I've fallen way behind and I'm trying to dig myself out of this backlog hell. So here is episode 98. For some reason we talk about episode 2 of What If...T'Challa Became a Star-Lord? but we skipped the discussion of episode 1 of Lower Decks and instead discussed Star Trek Lower Decks Episode 2: Kayshon, His Eyes Open. So I'm confused. Did I already post the episode about Ransom becoming a God? I don't know. I'm all confused. We also talk more about season three of Transformers. So yeah...

My 10 Years Neo Geo Big Red Restoration
Back in 2007, I purchased arcade cabinet that was a carcass of one of my favorite arcade machines, a Neo-Geo MVS 4 Slot. All the unique components that made it a Neo-Geo was ripped out and was converted into one of my most loathed on-rail shooters, CarnEvil. Seriously, I really do hate CarnEvil and seeing that game inside a Big Red frame made me want to restore this cabinet into is former glory. So, I paid $200 for a machine that had some much potential in becoming one of and did my best to make this into one of my most desired machines. I dragged this machine into my garage and started my restoration. I started with removing the marquee and the control panel overlay. Sadly, I had to throw the original panel cover away because I wanted to replace it with a new Neo-Geo MVS overlay. I then removed all the light gun cabling and proceeded to fill in the holes with bondo. I pulled out the coin mech, only to literally throw it away on accident during one of my many moves. You see, I had this cab half-finished but for a good chick of time, it sat inside a storage unit because I did not have the space to work on it and during one of my many moves between apartments, the coin door was placed in a pile of scrap that got tossed out with the trash. So yeah, freaking awesome.
